Pumpkin Dump Cake~

Pumpkin Dump Cake


Ingredients:
1-box yellow cake mix
1-large can pumpkin pie mix
1-8oz can evaporated milk
2-eggs
1-stick butter (melted)
2-small pkgs. pecan halves
Mix pumpkin pie mix with eggs and evaporated milk. Pour into large baking dish, crumble dry cake mix over the top, drizzle with melted butter, garnish with pecan halves.
Bake in preheated 350 degree oven, until brown. Approximately 45 minutes.
Easy recipe that reminds me of dump cakes.
Sprinkle a small amount of powdered sugar over top.

Tuesday is Movie Night~ here on the homestead~

My Themed nights have rubbed off on the “Mr.”about freaken time~

Yesterday he was rained out and called to say he was on his way home and what was the theme? I was like ~ HUH? he said~ well you always have something planned~ Ha~ Monday are drag my butt nights~ He was really looking for his next meal truth be told~

I had some running around to do so I picked up pulled Pork dinner for him and a child chicken tenders meal for me~ 10.00 for take out supper~ doable~ easy~ and I like there is no clean up involved, I'm so lazy. Today is Movie night~ new release~ from Redbox~ The one I want to see is “Human Contact” with Jada Pinket Smith ~ so movie and cheese steak subs~

Knitting Machine~ It all sank in

my little pea brain~

after much trial and error~ I woke up this morning~ and it all made sense~ I Set it up while making coffee and within 10 minutes I had this all done~ now I just got to figure out how it comes off ~ LOVE learning new crafts~

Things I know~ it’s easier to do it standing up~ so I moved it to the taller countertop.

That it’s best to not hold the yarn at all~

working off a cone of yarn is best.

The book was more helpful than the boring drippy lady on DVD~ The DVD is a turn off as it’s out dated~

 

 

Knitting Machine~

Lord have mercy~ Knitting machine thingys~ there addicting. I wont even tell you how many times I got it all set up ~knitted a bunch~ then unraveled and started over~ lets just more than 12 times~ I am getting a feel for how it all works. It goes pretty fast.

Reflecting on Yesterday

Waking up and thinking about yesterday~ I find it interesting that JR at the dinner table ~was talking about stopping in to see The “Mr.” while he was working this past week. Jr is telling us that The “mr” works too hard~ Mind you this comes from a 35 year old healthy strong man that lives off this 23 year girl friends paycheck~ he’s mastered the art of not working~ and feels it necessary to tell us that “Mr.” is crazy for working so hard~ what ? {Funny thing is ~the Mr. tried to get him to work along with him when he showed up and soon as jr realized he was getting sweaty he left~ God work? NO way } Jr wants a FREE ride at all costs~ The Mr. has TRIED to get him work and he refuses it~ We’d LOVE to be proud of JR~ but not working since arriving in FL 3 years ago ~ living off us for the first 8 months and then soon as the young girlfriend finished college in GA and moved here ~she got herself a job as a waitress~ She is the sole income~ she pays his interest only mortgage on a house she’ll never have her name on~ she works to pay all the bills and even his cigarettes~ all the while he belittles her in front of others~ Big Man ~ I can only take him in tiny doses and not that often. Jr keeps inviting us to come see what he’s done for work on his house~ I’m so not interested~ It’s amazing ~ The Mr is a hard worker and has to be told to stop and JR~ avoid hard work like it’s the plague . certainly nothing alike~

Oh yes you read the right~The Mr wanted to have his son over and his girlfriend for a cookout~ I did it all on a 10.00  budget~ I wanted the challenge~ 4 adults for 10.00 is doable~

I shucked and snapped the corn in half's~

Simmered ~ in salted water

Yesterday I put the tenderloins a Chinese barbecue marinate ~ Grilled them on low and slow on the grill out side. I was looking to keep the kitchen cool and do it either quick or outside and I did just that.

Cooked up a 4 quart pan of chunked Potatoes yesterday and chilled~ to pan fry today in my big electric fry pan~ all golden brown~

I put the beans on low in the crock pot~ I got Bush’s Bourbon Grillen beans~ they were buy one get one free

It was all wicked good~  Everyone sat there trying to eat it all~ there was enough they took home leftovers~

easy and fast~  and all at about 10.00~

Prep work yesterday was the key~ planning it all out~

 

 

In the middle of cooking~ I pulled out the knitting machine I’ve had for at least 2 years now and never used~ Jr’s girlfriend is a details girl and quite crafty. So ~while cooking we set up the knitting machine and within minutes we had it all set up~ it was easier than I thought and quick with 2 of us doing the set up. It was fun to do something ~verses sitting around ~ I knew I had to plan the setting up of the knitting machine  just right as Jr~ screw up any fun~ really jerk no matter what you can count he’ll step into any Fun I try to create for Heather while she’s here~ HA~ fixed him~

We started setting it up right before starting the meal and while bouncing around the kitchen cooking we go it going~

 

 

Today was just learning the set up and going back and forth~ and learning the gauge plates~ really a fun project and glad I pulled it out~

sure enough~ just as we were having a really fun time~ Jr~ came true to form ~ came over stopped the fun~ he talks so rude to his girlfriend~ told her it was time to go ~ she had laundry to do before she had to work~ he wanted the pile of laundry taken care of~ gurrrr~ I so want to flip him the bird~ but he’s clueless~

But ~ I smile and help them get out the door~ It was a great time from my view~ Hubby~ was happy~ They were more than happy~ Jr kept repeating he only eats well at my house~ Heathers cute~ quietly eats like she squirreling it away.  and I learned to use my knitting machine~  It’s awesome to have a kitchen to do ten things at once ~
