Feeling the need for something warm and comforting?
Then Dig out the crock pot and let’s make a pot of slow cook Beef Stew~
Your going to need
Stew Meat~ amount? I use one pound for a pot for the 2 of us.
Several Potatoes
A good sized Fresh Sweet onion
bag of carrots.
Jar of Heinz~ Home Style Gravy Savory Beef
and grab yourself some frozen self rising rolls too.
Really home cooking a stew like this is no real set amounts of the above items. If you like lots of potatoes then by all means add as many as you like.
Lets get cooking. ~ The stew meat your going to SEAR the chunks before you put in crock .
Sear? Searing locks in the juices. It’s easy. Grab a large fry pan~ Electric one is great for doing this. Get the pan Med hot~ then add meat~ salt and move around browning {Searing } the out side. See your not really cooking the meat just locking the juices in.
Peel and wash and then Hunk up the potatoes and carrots. Put those in the bottom of the crock~
Chunk up the onion and add that to the crock.
The meat should be looking like this
Salt and Pepper it if you like
Now put the meat on top of the veggies
Now DO NOT Rinse out the Fry pan~ we need and want the stuff stuck on the bottom~
Add about 1 1/2 cups water to the empty fry pan and with a fork or spoon start scrapping and getting the stuff on the bottom all up~ I call this part making “Rue” it’s very important tasty stuff for the stew.
Really get it all off the bottom
Now pour this over the all the crock
Now Cover the Crock pot and turn on LOW~
I put this on at 9 am and it will be ready at 5 ish pm
Now go about your day ~ About Noon come back to kitchen
your then going to get the rolls going.
Peek THREW the lid ~ Nice eh? DON’T Open
At NOON~
Get out your jumbo muffin pan~ butter the pan and add 2 frozen self rising rolls per cavity~ rub tops with butter.
set aside to rise for the remainder of the day.

About 4 pm~ Open the Crock ~ pour that jar of Jar of Heinz~ Home Style Gravy Savory Beef over the top ~ add water to the jar about half way and with a spoon mix and get all the gravy stuff inside the jar~ we want ALL that stuff. Pour that over the stew. Do all this quickly~ With a large spoon mix all the crock up. Get that gravy all mixed in and Cover that baby up. Let this cook at min one more hour to meld that gravy in.
About 5 ~ 5:30 those rolls should be all risen and ready to bake.
Those are easy. Read the bag~ I think it’s 350 for 18 min but read the bag.
once the Rolls are bake and the gravy has been mixed in for at least a hour then Ladle the AWSEOME Stew into bowls and ENJOY~
